On your holiday here at the Alpengasthof and Hotel Kopphütte you don't have to worry about anything, as lots of amenities are included. Being active increases your appetite, we know that, that's why we offer more than just half board: in the morning the aroma of fresh rolls and coffee tempts you down to the breakfast buffet, in the afternoon you can fill up at the sweet buffet, whilst looking forward to the 3-course evening meal. Peckish in the meantime? - our packed lunch provides relief. In addition to the fantastic scenery around the house the panorama spa area is the perfect place to relax, of course you don't have to do without the mountain view here either. Families with children love holidaying with us, as there's something for all ages to discover: play corner, playground, table tennis, billiards, sledges and snowshoes for rental etc.

Arrival, Departure & Opening times
Check-in is available starting at 2.00 pm. If you plan to arrive after 5.00 pm, please let us know in advance.
On the day of departure, please check out by 10.00 am at the latest.
In winter we look forward to welcoming day guests too.
Our hours of operation for the 2026/2027 winter season will be announced shortly.
During the summer season our restaurant is closed.
However, we do offer daily the possibility to book our breakfast buffet (8.00 am – 10.00 am) plus the evening menu served to our house guests (6.00 pm – 7.00 pm).
The best way to reach us in winter is by taking the ski bus toward Arthurhaus. Get off at the “Kopphütte” stop. From there, it’s a 1.5 km walk. The toboggan run ends at the municipal office in Mühlbach. Here you’ll also find plenty of parking spaces and a ski bus stop called “Gemeindeamt.” Or you can hike along the toboggan run from Mühlbach to us.
In winter, winter tyres and snow chains for your car are absolutely necessary. You can purchase snow chains in standard sizes from us or in resort. For legal reasons rental is not possible.
Your stay with us
The 4.5-kilometer-long natural toboggan run starts right at the Alpengasthof Kopphütte and leads down to the village of Mühlbach.
It is open daily from 9.30 am until dusk (approx. 4.00–5.00 pm). Please note that the run is not lit.
You are welcome to rent snowshoes from us. Rental is free for hotel guests. Day visitors pay €5.00 for snowshoes.
Internet access via Wi-Fi is of course available free of charge.
Yes, You receive the Hochkönig Card for the duration of your stay free of charge. The card entitles you to a number of inclusives and discounts in the region.
If you just require breakfast, we deduct € 10,00 per night from the room price.

In winter, we offer a shuttle service to the ski bus stop for skiers, snowboarders, and cross-country skiers.
For safety reasons, we can only transport children who are at least 130 cm tall.
Please note that smoking is not permitted in our house.
Your little darling is very welcome here. We charge a fee of €13 per dog per day.

Surcharges & Discounts
For single room occupancy we charge a single room supplement of € 10,– per night.
For stays of up to 2 nights, the short-stay surcharge is €3 per person per night.
Payment, Cancellation, Insurance & More
We require a deposit of 15 % of your booking price. This fee must be transferred to our bank account within 30 days of booking. In the event of last minute bookings (within 14 days prior to arrival) the deposit is waivered. The remainder should be paid in resort prior to departure with EC-card or in cash.
